Vocalizer Vocal Production Synthesizer
Sonivox has announced Vocalizer Pro Vocal Production Synthesizer, an updated version of their Vocalizer MIDI-controlled audio effect. Vocalizer Pro brings a harmonic/melodic voice to any audio input, thus ‘vocalizing’ the sound. Simply singing or speaking—or any type of vocalizing—can create deep and complex musical results. In addition, Vocalizer Pro allows the creation of simple or complex vocal harmonies that can extend beyond the natural limitations of the voice. Vocalizer Pro is excellent for processing any type of percussive or melodic audio track.

Vocalizer Pro provides two rows of pads for real-time control. One row allows multiple notes or harmonies to be stacked on each pad. The other allows parameters to be switched to new values. Snapshots provide instant switching of parameter controls, which can be triggered with the pads. For every pad, every automatable parameter can be set to a different setting.
It’s almost as if every pad is a completely different patch, thus allowing you to switch instantly between different parameter settings. These pads also control the settings of the effects as well. Vocalizer Pro features also include pitch pitch-and formant formant-shifting, detailed envelope control, sync-able LFOs, and double the number of effects and filters from the original Vocalizer. Sonivox Vocalizer Pro can be used as a standalone program or as an AU, VST, or RTAS plug-in. Vocalizer Pro is compatible with 32- or 64-bit Mac or Windows systems. Vocalizer Pro is $149.99 at the.
Sonivox is a really suspicious company. I’d bought Twist at GC on sale about a year ago and felt completely ripped off – limited capabilites, buggy interface (library would drop in and out), no customer support whatsoever.
Try looking up any legitimate reviews of the product, it’s all marketing spam. Here’s a vid of their sales guy “showing” the product: You’d be hard pressed to actually hear any of them. “Unlike other vocoders, if a person with a French accent speaks through the Vocalizer you can hear their accent” What a load.
Gives you endless sound-sculpting possibilities for any audio source you want to change. SONiVOX's Vocalizer is part effects plug-in, part synthesizer. You can speak, sing, whisper, yell, or run drum tracks and other audio sources through it which it then takes apart and lets you change the pitch, harmonize, de-harmonize, modify, fortify, enhance, re-fry, re-synthesize, and reassemble to your imagination's outermost limit. The brainchild of SONiVOX's Nemesynth Audio Reasearch Group, Vocalizer takes the science of sound and puts it on steroids. Vocalizer takes anything you input into it and almost magically teleports it into a dimension previously only theorized about. This is the sound of tomorrow's hits and must be heard to be believed. Comments about Sonivox Vocalizer - Vocal Production Synthesizer: Vocalizer did the job I bought it for, which was a robot quartet.
Tinte nutrisse color tabaco. Be prepared to spend some time twiddling. Vocalizer is a unique instrument. A Vocoder has 2 audio inputs, one usually a synth, the other a voice, which makes the synth talk. A Soft Synth has one midi input which determines the pitch of the synth output. Vocalizer has 1 audio and 1 midi input.
The pitch and various other harmonics are removed from the audio and the pitch is determined by the midi input. This creates anything from the audio re-pitched to freakish sounds. CAUTION: do NOT twiddle the knobs wearing headphones or with your speaker volume up. Vocalizer will make sounds that are as loud as you equipment will produce. Yes, my hearing has recovered! Unique sounds for sure.
However, just like any instrument they tend to be somewhat similar. Using drums for the audio will produce some great rhythmic sounds. As has been stated in another review, be sure your DAW will work. I used SONAR 8.5 which worked perfectly. Once I got it working, I had no problems at all. The price seems somewhat reasonable.
