Its quite straight forward in nature,once you are able to open the Process Monitor, You have standard filters and you can create new ones. Each Filter provides options for you create a specific query Element for a specific instance, Process Instance Id, Focus Object ID. Once you reach the specific Process instance with the use of Filters, you can use the option of 'Expand Active Procinsts' of the context menu to reach out to the Stuck or stopped Step Instance After reaching out to the step, you have the option of Force Finish or Make Available and take necessary action. I am sure there would be some complete product documentation Guide for APM Process Monitor, But pretty much it would summarize the above options.
